We don’t stay in a lot of RV parks when we travel. This is both to keep costs down and to keep scenery high. But when traveling up the west coast of the United States, public lands are few and far between. Schroeder Park in Grants Pass was one stop between public lands.

Better for Smaller Rigs

While the web page stated that the park could handle rigs of all sizes, we had a really hard time fitting the bus into the slip. The camping loops are also twisty and branchy, making even locating your slip a chore on the one-way streets.

Amenities In and Around Schroeder Park

Being in the middle of a city, shopping and laundry are close at hand. The park also has extensive day-use facilities, including a large off-leash dog park, which are included with camping fees. The bathhouse had a shower facility, but during our short trip, we didn’t make the time to try it out.

For a quick stop, especially in a smaller rig, Schroeder Park isn’t too bad, but if your rig is on the larger and less maneuverable side, you’re better served looking elsewhere.

Mom here: I was planning this portion of the trip. This was actually a last-minute stop because the public lands we hoped to spend the night on were either not available or not suitable. If you need to be in this area, there’s not much else, especially at a reasonable price point. While it wasn’t our favorite, it served its purpose nicely and broke up what would have been a very long drive in the mountains of Oregon.
