During the sugar beet harvest, we got to stay “free” at the Governor’s Inn RV park in Castleton, North Dakota. This was our first time staying at a place with full hookups and it was pretty nice.

The park itself wasn’t much to write home about. It was a level gravel lot with lots of space for RVs and skoolies. The slip we were in had power, water, and sewer on both sides so we didn’t need to worry about long hose runs. The park also had decent WI-fi so that was nice. It was within walking distance of Dollar General for last-minute groceries, though the nearest big store was a half-hour drive to Fargo.
There was a laundromat on-site and the attached hotel had showers and an indoor water park that the kids loved! I enjoyed seeing them become more confident and competent swimmers as we visited the park nearly daily. Mom’s employer had paid for the spot at Governor’s RV Park, but the waterpark cost extra. We wanted to get our money’s worth.

Speaking of money’s worth… Since we don’t have laundry facilities on the bus, other than Mom’s Levario which has been super handy for doing her delicates, we’ve been using laundromats. This has been one of the most expensive laundromats we’ve ever used. In most places we’ve been able to wash and dry our whole family’s clothing for the week for about $20, this place costs us nearly double!

I don’t know if we’d ever stay here again. The water park was nice, but not enough to counter the expensive laundry and lack of privacy. (We got really spoiled with all our boondocking, and are not RV park people.) The weather’s getting cold fast, so we’re looking forward to our sprint south.
