I’m a former factory worker turned work-from-home breadwinner. I’ve been known to be handy around the house from replacing floors, repairing appliances, and building the occasional shed. Transitioning away from sticks and bricks is going to be a big change, no more workshop for all my tools, no more, or significantly less space to spread out appliance parts to diagnose and repair. Probably the biggest change though is the career. I started working in manufacturing 15 years ago and it’s going to be a major paradigm shift to go from that kind of 9-5 shift work to a more open-ended tech job.
