While we stayed at the Governors RV park, we were able to get out and explore the city of Moorhead, Minnesota. In addition to the Red River Zoo, we got to visit the Hjemkomst Center. Mom looked around for museums we could get into on our limited budget and found that this one had reciprocal benefits through ASTC. This meant that thanks to The Boy’s Young Eagles Flight, we could

Before the beet harvest started, we were able to take a side trip into Fargo, ND. We visited the Red River Zoo! While there, we signed up for their zoo membership. Mom did her homework and knew that this was a good zoo to join. Not only is it a cheaper membership – only $80/year – but it gets us into many AZA zoos completely free!  This has been the

During the sugar beet harvest, we got to stay “free” at the Governor’s Inn RV park in Castleton, North Dakota.  This was our first time staying at a place with full hookups and it was pretty nice. The park itself wasn’t much to write home about. It was a level gravel lot with lots of space for RVs and skoolies. The slip we were in had power, water, and sewer

Mom here, to chat with you about the sugar beet harvest. I found out about this before we left our house, and signed up for it almost a year in advance! It was supposed to be good money with lots of overtime. There are several different companies that hire for the sugar beet harvest. I worked for Express Employment, and overall, they were a good company to work for. Pay

What should I get my Favorite Nomad for the holidays?

It’s that time of year again when everyone has to buy something for someone. Well, that’s a little unfair. It’s that time of year again when friends and family come together and exchange tokens of love and appreciation! Sometimes it’s easy to shop for someone, and sometimes it’s incredibly hard. Especially when that someone lives on the road and doesn’t really have room for a Roomba and two instant pots!

During our stay outside of Medora, North Dakota, we took advantage of the Every Kid Outdoors program to explore Theodore Roosevelt National park. Located in the Badlands of North Dakota, this park was an absolute wonder of history and natural beauty. The park was dedicated to Theodore Roosevelt, who we learned was a major supporter and facilitator of the National park and natural preserve programs in the US. We learned

Medora North Dakota

On our way through North Dakota, we stopped just outside Theodore Roosevelt National Park and boondocked in the Scoria Pit dispersed camping area of the Little Missouri National Grasslands. This spot was right next to the tourist town of Medora. We were there in the shoulder season, meaning we were outside of peak, but the weather was still nice. What this meant for us was most of the town was
